A special child with a world record: the swimmer who swam from Mahabalipuram to Chennai!
Runners are those who run with good physical fitness in the race. Those who overcome various physical obstacles and achieve achievements are called hurdlers. What they do is doubly worth what they do despite their physical and mental challengesEquivalent to touching twice the height. One such special child, Haresh Bharat Mohan, who swam 50 km from Mahabalipuram to Chennai, has entered the Asian Book of Records and the Indian Book of Records.
A certificate to this effect was issued by the Board of Supervisors. This Haresh Bharatmohan’s father’s name is Bharatmohan mother’s name is Nirmala Devi. When mother Nirmala Devi says about her son Haresh Bharatmohan,“My son Haresh was diagnosed with autism when he was one-and-a-half years old. I realized he was a special child. He was hyperactive and clumsy.Speech did not come. So he couldn’t make him study. When he saw that something could make him engage in his favorite activities, he really liked water. He looked very happy playing in the water. His interest in it increased as he went and he seemed happy if he was swimming in the water. So we decided to involve ourselves in it. So his father started teaching him to swim from an early age. Then we taught him to swim seriously. He is not interested in swimming competitively with a fellow competitor to achieve a certain goal. It doesn’t settle for him. He has good stamina. Friends and some coaches told him to train him alone. So we were giving him private training.
Accordingly, Karthik Gunasekaran came as a good coach to us. Without him, we would not have achieved this feat. He looked after my son like his own brother. After he got interested in long distance swimming, we first made Haresh swim from Thalaimannar to Dhanushkodi on 7th October 2023. Six hours was the goal. But the situation at sea was very bad that day. If he moved one foot, the wave pushed him back three feet. Such was the fury of the wave.Even so, he swam a distance of 27 km in 11 hours 52 minutes 20 seconds and reached Dhanushkodi. When we thought of what to do next, we thought of doing something bigger than that. Accordingly, we planned to cross Chennai from Mahabalipuram.
Accordingly, he started swimming at two midnight in Mahabalipuram. In 10-15 minutes the snake climbed on him. So he got a bit nervous and was swimming again when he was disturbed by the jellyfish. Enduring all this, he reached the Kannagi statue in Chennai at 15.00.21 i.e. 15 hours and 21 seconds. This feat did not happen by chance. For five years the coach trained hard, his father watching.Swimming in the ocean is anything but ordinary. While swimming like this, the salt water and his mouth got burnt. Regardless of all that, he is doing this feat. This is an Asian feat.We are very happy that he has done this in the special children category. I hope this Asian achievement and Indian achievement will be an inspiration and motivation for other kids like him.”The selectors praised and congratulated him that he has just started and will achieve many world records in the future. After completing the swimming feat, he walked normally without any fatigue. Because he is a special child who takes pain for granted without thinking too much about it. So he was normal. Everyone was amazed at his enthusiasm and fitness.
